Do I need a doctor’s referral for physiotherapy?

In British Columbia, you do not need a physician's referral to see a Physiotherapist or RMT. However, some specific private insurance plans may require a referral to reimburse you. We recommend checking with your provider beforehand.

What if my insurance company is not listed?

If we cannot bill your provider directly, we will provide you with a detailed digital receipt. You can then submit this receipt through your provider’s mobile app or website for quick reimbursement.

Does insurance cover Kinesiology or Active Rehab?

Many extended health plans now cover Kinesiology under "Health & Wellness" or "Physical Therapy" categories. ICBC also covers Kinesiology sessions for active rehabilitation.

How much of the cost is covered?

Coverage varies by plan. Some plans cover 100%, while others cover a fixed percentage (e.g., 80%) or have a yearly cap. We recommend logging into your insurance portal to view your "Paramedical Services" limits.

Can I get more ICBC treatments if I use up my initial sessions?

Yes, If additional treatment is required, our staff will submit a treatment plan to your ICBC claims adjuster to seek approval for continued funding.

Will ICBC cover the full cost if a session exceeds their set rates?

No. ICBC only pays up to the specific allotted amount per treatment type. They will not cover costs exceeding their pre-set limits unless a specific extension or rate adjustment is authorized for your claim.

How many initial assessments are covered by ICBC?

ICBC covers 25 Physiotherapy and 12 Registered Massage Therapy sessions within the first 12 weeks post accident. Typically, ICBC covers 1 initial assessment per treatment discipline (ex. 1 for physio, 1 for RMT), but coverage for additional assessments is determined on a case-by-base basis depending on the specifics of your accident claim.

Can I book two RMT sessions on the same day?

No. Insurance providers will only cover 1 same therapy type on the same day. ex. ICBC regulations prevent patients from booking multiple sessions of the same therapy type on the same day. In this example, you cannot book two 30-minute Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) sessions back-to-back to create a 60-minute appointment

Can I receive different types of treatment on the same day?

Yes. You are permitted to receive different therapeutic services on the same day. For instance, you may attend both a Physiotherapy session and a Massage session during a single visit to ReBounce Physio and have both covered by the same insurance provider.

Does ICBC cover the cost of late cancellations or missed appointments?

No. ICBC does not provide coverage for missed appointments or last-minute cancellations. It is the patient's responsibility to manage their schedule; any "no-show" or late fees must be paid out-of-pocket by the patient.

Is payment guaranteed by my insurance provider for Direct Biling?

While ReBounce Physio provides direct billing as a courtesy, it is not a guarantee of payment. If an insurance provider does not cover the full cost of the session for any reason, the patient is responsible for the session cost at the time of service and must seek reimbursement directly from their provider.

I've had my fair share of injury in my life from being clumsy or from sitting at my desk for too long. I've had my back, neck, shoulder and arm fixed by the team. They offer acupuncture, ims, massage, physiotherapy, shockwave therapy and more. The staff is super helpful, nice and professional. The facility is clean and well maintained. I highly recommend coming here for maintenance and or therapy.

I always book with Jasmine Virk and she’s truly amazing at what she does! She’s deeply knowledgeable, comforting and knows the body. There was a leg pain that was bothering me for monthsssss and Jasmine fixed it in one treatment( I can’t believe I didn’t book sooner). Now I go for IMS and shock wave therapy, and that’s been great! After Xrays revealed severe arthritis in my right hip and spine, my doctors told me the only solution to relieve my excruciating pain was total joint replacement surgery. When I asked if physiotherapy would help, the answer was “No”. I didn't accept that and went ahead and booked an appointment with Katriana. She literally changed my life. After a thorough examination of my history and abilities, she designed an exercise program that was simple yet effective. At our weekly visits (now monthly), she would evaluate my progress, listen to my concerns, provide adaptations and progressions as well as apply techniques such as dry needling, shockwave therapy and hip mobilization. Within only two months, I went from 8/10 on the pain scale to 2/10. My sleep improved. My sciatica disappeared. I can carry out my daily activities relatively pain-free. I'll probably need hip surgery in the future, but now instead of considering it within the next few months, I feel confident I can put it off for at least a few years. I am beyond ecstatic that my body responded so well to physiotherapy, all thanks to the expert guidance of Katriana. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
